The study on Echinacea, one of the world’s most popular botanical dietary supplements, was published in the July 2007 issue of the prestigious British medical journal, The Lancet Infectious Diseases. The researchers combined the results of 14 different clinical trials involving more than 1,300 patients who were studied for Echinacea’s effect on preventing the common cold and more than 1,600 patients studied for Echinacea’s effect on limiting cold duration. This study design is known as a meta-analysis, a set of statistical techniques for combining information from different studies to derive an overall estimate of a treatment's effect. It’s a well-accepted scientific approach to combine and evaluate data from many different studies that often have mixed results. What’s interesting about the University of Connecticut findings is that they stand in stark contrast to a high profile study published in the New England Journal of Medicine in 2005, which discounted Echinacea’s cold-fighting effects. That study was actually included in the University of Connecticut meta-analysis, but was conducted using Echinacea dosage levels thought to be well below the levels recommended by such authorities as the World Health Organization (WHO), which probably affected its results. The University of Connecticut meta-analysis included only randomized, placebo-controlled, peer-reviewed studies of the highest scientific caliber, and the researchers were able to discern effects that the smaller, individual studies were unable to determine on their own. The investigators determined that a) Echinacea reduced the incidence of the common cold when taken alone and in combination with other dietary supplements; and b) Echinacea reduced the incidence of the common cold whether study subjects were exposed to viruses naturally or inoculated with a particular virus as part of a comprehensive and rigorous scientific study design. The key takeaway message from the study is that “Echinacea does indeed have powerful cold prevention and cold treatment benefits,” at least according to Assistant Professor of Pharmacy Practice Craig Coleman, the lead author of the study. He further stated that “the significance of that finding becomes clear when you consider Americans suffer from one billion colds annually and spend about $1.5 billion annually for doctor’s visits and another $2 billion annually on non-prescription cough and cold treatments.” Mark Blumenthal, founder of the American Botanical Council called the new analysis "good news," and our scientists applaud the study investigators. We also agree with them in believing that more controlled scientific research is needed to better understand exactly how Echinacea can best serve in both the prevention and treatment of the common cold. But until that research is completed, the findings of this meta-analysis confirm the positive results seen in several other studies, so keep your Echinacea on hand to take at the first sign of a cold or flu.

Moms Home Based Business: How commit are you to your Business? For the Moms who start a Home Based Business I like to ask you one question. How much are you committed to your Business? Are you easy sidetrack form daily task with your family? I am a single mom and I know how challenge it sometimes can be with kids, job, household and building a home based business all by yourself. As a single mom you also face negative influence from the Ex that he blames you for his mess up and than the wish to be in a new relationship but the fear to trust again. As I see everybody has their baggage and it is up to us what really is our priority, mine is my kids and my moms home based business. Even when it seem some days like a Holocaust that goes high up and deep down, stay on this ride and become aware what is going on, special in your mind. Sometimes is even can look like whatever you do is not working out. That this sound familiar to you? The raison that we are going through so extreme phase in our life is, that we have a goals or dream who we want to be and when this is total different than the person you are right now we must go through this experience. See when you want to make changes in your life nature will give you challenges or lesson you have to learn and growth. Everything in our life has the reason to teach us the lesson we need to learn, and it is up to us to take this challenge and make it work for us or just to give up on your dreams and blame everybody else for it, just not yourself? When somebody ever tells you to sign up into a home business and get rich over night, you are probably facing a scam. Each business has it learning curve and depend from where you come from. How fast you learn will determent how fast you reach your goals. Everybody has to pay there dues and some people already paid for it or other still have to pay for it. Everything we reach in life we have to earn it, and you get back what you put towards it, and when you give nothing you will get nothing. So no matter were you come from, everyone can learn this skills as long as you be committed to it and have faith that you will accomplish your goals by taking action. When you are truly be committed you will be pushed out of your limit believe, out of your comfort zone and it is all up to you how commit you are and that you trust yourself. Stay away from unsuccessful people, because they will give you success advise which will never work or they already will be successful for themselves. Look for a rohe module who already walk the way you want to go, learn from them what they done so you can duplicate the technics into your life. Technics and system can be duplicated, but you need to stay true yourself! See your rohe module stayed true to themselves, that why he or she got your attraction. This goes with branding yourself, you don't want to brand your up-line. Why should people follow you when you take away the attention away from yourself and point to somebody else? See you will give the message, I am not good or I don't make any money, but my up-line is doing it so follow him when you want success with your home based business. Be committed to your home based business and you will take action to get results, because that's all what it count in business. Get result with a stable strong Company and with product people need. Have a system in place were newbies easy can learn the skills and belong to a team with support. Everybody has their mentors, advisor and team to become successful and to get results.
